Description

Chittenden Lodge is a coach house, dating to circa 1880 and designed by George Devey. It has since been converted into a cottage. The building is constructed of red brick with a timber frame, where the timber is exposed with plaster infill. It has a plain tiled roof. The lodge stands on a plinth, and the first floor is slightly jettied on all sides, supported by moulded brackets. There are moulded bressummers and bargeboards to the gable. A raking half-dormer and a wooden casement window are present on the first floor, while the ground floor features two cross windows and a half-glazed door to the right, and a large picture window to the left, within what was the carriage entry. Three-light wooden casement windows are found on each floor in the gable ends. The building is included on the list for its group value.
