Description

This is a pair of houses, dating from the 16th century, with alterations and extensions made in the late 19th century. The houses are timber-framed and originally clad in wood, but have been extended with red and blue chequered brick and tile hanging. They have a plain tiled roof. The original design was likely a hall house.

The older range, on the right, is two storeys and has a garret, with a hipped roof and a stack to the right. The projecting gabled wing on the left is also two storeys and has a garret, with a plinth and a rear stack. The left wing has two wooden casement windows on each floor, with a central half-glazed door within a gabled porch. The right-hand block has four wooden casement windows on the first floor and three on the ground floor, with a half-glazed door to the centre-left in a gabled porch.

The rear of the property features irregularly projecting wings of varying dates. A rear wing of the 19th-century block is older than the rest and connects to the original range on the right. A stack in English bond brickwork is present in this earlier wing, dating back to at least the 17th century.
