Description
The Fielder chest tomb and its surrounding railings, located about 5 meters north of the north transept of the Church of All Saints, date from the early 19th century. The tomb is made of freestone and features a rectangular shape with an oversailing moulded lid and a moulded plinth. It bears an inscription that commemorates Thomas Fielder of Mereworth, who died in 1810, along with other family members. The cast iron railings have verticals with an oval section and elaborate finials, while the principal standards are columnar and decorated with stylized foliage. This monument is very complete and is situated in an outstanding churchyard.
