Description

This is a sundial located about 30 metres northeast of the Church of St Mary in Goudhurst. It dates from 1801 and is made of stone with a brass plate. The sundial features a stone platform with a vase-shaped stem that supports the brass plaque. The plaque is inscribed with decorative scrolls and includes the date 1801, along with the names High Welch and Humphrey Wicken, who were churchwardens at the time. Please note that the gnomon, which is the part that casts the shadow, is missing.
