Description
Chimney Cottage is a cottage that may have been part of a former hall-house, dating from the early 16th century and altered in the 18th and 20th centuries. It features a timber frame with a red brick ground floor and a weather-boarded first floor. The roof is plain tiled, hipped to the right with a gablet and half-hipped to the left. The building has two storeys with an irregular arrangement of windows, including one window on both floors and a pair of French casements at the entrance on the left. There is a tall red brick stack on a projecting chimney breast on the right-hand return front. A 20th-century bay has been added to the left-hand return front. The entrances are located in the right-hand return front, with a glazed door to the left of the chimney breast and a half-glazed door to the right in a small catslide outshot.
