Description

No. 57 High Street is a cottage dating from the 17th century, which has been clad in the early 19th century. It features a timber frame with weatherboarding on the front. The ground floor is made of red brick, while the first floor on the left-hand side is also weatherboarded. The cottage has a steep, plain tiled half-hipped roof with a parapet and a tall central brick chimney stack. It is two storeys high with garrets. There is a single window in the garret with shutters, and two windows below, all of which are glazing bar sashes. The ground floor has a double shop front with projecting square bays on either side of the door.
