Description

A row of cottages dating to the 18th century, with alterations in the 20th century, stands on Bodiam Road in Sandhurst. The cottages are faced with weatherboarding and have hipped tiled roofs and brick chimney stacks. There are two storeys and six windows. Most windows are 16-pane sashes in moulded architraves, though one cottage, Bryn Tirion, has 20th-century casements and ground floor square bays with a mock timber-frame appearance. The Manor House section features an early 19th-century tented canopy supported by five cast iron columns, two curved shopfronts, and a central double door with marginal glazing. Manor Cottage has a doorcase with a flat hood supported by wooden brackets.
