Description
The stable block, wall, and hand pump located about 25 metres southeast of Kirkins Farmhouse date from the early 19th century. The stable block is constructed of red brick with a plain tiled roof and is a single-storey hipped building set on a plinth. It features two doorways on the long side and one on the right return, with a wooden casement. To the right, there is a brick wall that initially rises to eaves level before sloping down to about 5 feet and angling along the roadside. This wall continues for approximately 20 yards in a damaged condition, standing about 2 feet high. Attached to the wall is a hand pump, which has a wooden boxed surround and an iron handle, along with grips for the enriched spout surround, and the spout itself is fitted with a chained cover.
