Description

Brook Street Farm House and adjoining Cottage is a timber-framed house, largely rebuilt in red brick on the ground floor with tile hanging above, dating to 1732. It is L-shaped, with a cottage attached at a right angle to the west end, facing the road. The house has a tiled roof with a half-hipped gable to the south wing, and includes two gabled dormers and an attic window in the gable. Most windows are casements, with one sash window retaining its glazing bars. A verandah with a sloping tiled roof runs along the ground floor. The ground floor of the south wing displays some visible timbering. The attached cottage, circa 1830, is two storeys high, built of red brick, and features an eaves cornice and a hipped slate roof. Its ground-floor windows have segmental heads and contain two pointed lights.
