Description

HADLOW ASHES LANE TQ 65 SW 3/7 Granary approx 250 m west of North Frith Farmhouse

GV II

Granary. Early C19. Timber-framed with slate roof. Small single-storey granary raised on stone staddle stones with pyramid roof. The walls are weatherboarded. Doorway through east side; plain plank door with iron hoops each side to enable a farmhand to pull himself up to the granary.

Interior: Lined with matchwood planks and roof is built in the clasped side purlin fashion.

The granary appears to be a little earlier in date than the rest of the buildings built in 1856 as a model farm.
