Description

The railings, gate, and wall at Went House date from around 1710. They feature a low panelled brick wall approximately 0.5 meters high, topped with stone coping. The elaborate 18th-century spear railings are made of wrought and cast iron, with scrolled panels and urns on top. There is a central pedestrian gate flanked by scrolled panels and an ornate scrolled overthrow. The wall ends with a partial brick pier set on a ragstone base. To the left, a ragstone wall curves around and connects to the house, while to the right, the wall extends to the junction with Lavenders Road.
