Description

This is a memorial dedicated to Flight Lieutenant Reginald Lord of the Royal Naval Air Service, located in St John's Cemetery. It features a marble Latin cross set on a square, three-tiered base, which is surrounded by a marble kerb. The base has an inscription in lead lettering, although some parts are missing. The inscription reads: "IN LOVING MEMORY OF/ FLIGHT SUB. LIEUTENANT/ REGINALD LORD. R.N.A.S./ OF NEWCASTLE-ON-TYNE./ AGED 23./ WHO LOST HIS LIFE IN A ZEPPELIN RAID/ ON THIS COAST/ MONDAY AUGUST 10TH 1915."
