Description

These are two late 18th to early 19th century buildings on the south side of High Street, Sittingbourne. Number 71 is stuccoed, while number 73 has a painted brick ground floor and stucco above, with evidence of a former timber-framed building including the remains of a bressumer. Both buildings are two storeys high with attics. They contain three sash windows, one of which is a three-light design. Number 71 has a modern shop front, while number 73 features a right-side round-headed doorcase with an intact semi-circular fanlight and a door consisting of six fielded panels. Number 73's doorcase is similar to the one at number 71. The group value of the buildings is enhanced by their proximity to numbers 25 to 45 (odd), and 49 to 81 (odd).
