Description

The Cottage is a house that dates from the 17th century to the early 19th century. It features a distinctive chequered pattern of red and blue brick along with white brick, topped with a plain tiled roof. The building has a lobby entry plan and stands two storeys tall on a plinth, with the roof hipped to the right and gabled to the left. There are two hipped dormers and chimney stacks located at the end left and centre right.

To the left, there is a 19th-century addition that includes two glazing bar sash windows on each floor. The original building has five wooden casement windows on the first floor and four on the ground floor, all with leaded lights. The door, which is from the 20th century, consists of six raised and fielded panels and is positioned at centre right, in the middle of the 17th-century structure. It features a rectangular fanlight and a gabled porch. Additionally, there is a 20th-century extension to the right, made of red brick with tile hanging, which is two storeys high and has irregular window placements.
