Description
Goodnestone Court is a house dating from the 15th century. It is timber framed and plastered, with a painted brick underbuilding and an exposed bresummer. The left gable features exposed close-studding. The roof is plain tiled and the building stands two storeys high on a plinth, likely originally with a continuous jetty. The left gable is jettied, as is the end gable to the right. The roof is hipped with gablets, and there are stacks located at the rear left, rear centre, and end right.
On the first floor, there are three wooden casements, while the ground floor has two casements and two canted bay windows. The left gable includes a Perpendicular traceried window with three lights and a six-over design, complete with a moulded barge-board. The house may have originally served as a chapel. There is a half-glazed door with a flat hood located to the centre right.
