Description
Nos 8 and 9 on Court Street is a building with an 18th-century front that conceals a 17th-century timber-framed structure. It has two storeys and an attic, featuring two windows and two hipped dormers on the east side, as well as two windows and two hipped dormers on the north side. The exterior is stuccoed and includes a moulded wooden cornice with eaves brackets. The first floor slightly overhangs on both fronts, and there are two bays on the first floor of the east front. The building has a 19th-century shop front and a tiled roof, topped with a tall chimney. Nos 1 to 11 (consecutive) and 11A are part of a group with Nos 4 to 7 (consecutive) and No 7A in The Market Place.
