Description
These stables, located 30 yards north of Homestall Farmhouse, date from the 17th century. They are constructed of red brick in Flemish bond with a plain tiled roof. The building is one storey high with a loft, set on a plinth and features a discontinuous plat band, a dentiled cornice, and kneelered gables. On the first floor, there are two metal casements, while the ground floor has three wooden casements with segmental heads and half-doors on the left and right. Inside, the stables consist of three bays with a clasped purlin roof supported by diminished principals and wind bracing. The interior also retains stabling partitions and brick and tile drained floors.
