Description

The Den is a house comprising a 16th-century rear range and a front range dating to the 18th century. The front range is constructed of grey brick with red brick dressings and a plain tiled roof. The rear range is timber-framed with red brick cladding on the ground floor, plaster on the first floor, and a hipped roof with gablets. The house comprises two parallel ranges.

The front elevation has two storeys, sitting on a plinth with a plat band, and features a moulded wood eaves cornice, with stacks at both ends. The windows are regularly spaced and consist of two tripartite sashes on the ground floor with gauged heads, and a central glazing bar sash on the first floor. A central door features six raised and fielded panels, a traceried rectangular fanlight, and a broken pediment on pilasters. There is a one-storey, single-window extension to the left.
