Description
Hales House is a house from the mid-17th century that was restored in the 19th century. It is made of red brick and has a plain tiled roof. The building has two storeys and an attic, standing on a plinth with a discontinuous plat band and cornice. There are two gabled projections, with a 17th-century stack on the left and a 19th-century stack on the right. The windows feature irregular fenestration, consisting of five large segment-headed wood casements on each floor. To the left, there is a plank and stud door located in a gabled porch that also has two storeys and an attic. Hales House is similar to Tunstall House and was built for Sir Edward Hale's grandson around 1640.
