Description

Perry Wood Place is a house dating to the late 16th century, with later 20th-century additions. Originally a timber-framed structure, it is now mostly clad in red and blue brick, with a plain tiled roof. The building was originally composed of three or more framed bays, but only two remain visible. It is two storeys high, with a hipped roof and stacks positioned centrally and projecting at the right end of the facade. The fenestration is irregular and includes two metal casement windows on each floor to the right, and one wooden casement window on each floor to the left. A boarded door is set within a hipped porch on the centre left. A weatherboarded extension is attached to the right, and a large, recessed two-storey wing was under construction to the left at the time of inspection. Cladding and the porch were also undergoing alterations during the inspection. The interior features a substantial timber frame with jowled posts and a mullioned window at the rear.
