Description

Old Tiles is a 16th century or earlier timber-framed building located on Lodge Lane in Westerham. It features a gable end facing the road and a smaller, lower cross-wing on the right side, topped with a tall chimney made of old bricks. The building has high-pitched tiled roofs and tile-hung gable ends. It stands two storeys tall and has one window. The visible timber framing includes later brick filling. The windows are old iron casements set in wooden frames, which may be original, although they have modern leading and some small panes of old glass. The entrance has a modern door beneath a bracketed flat hood. Old Tiles is part of a group that includes Tudor Cottage, Carter's Cross, White House, Bibury, Nos 1 to 4, and Bank Cottage, alongside Corner Cottage on High Street.
