Description

Bank Cottage is a 16th-century, two-storey timber-framed cottage located in Westerham on Lodge Lane. It features a high-pitched tiled roof with rebuilt end chimneys. A later wing has been added at the back, with its gable top visible over the roof ridge. The first floor is tile hung, while the ground floor is constructed of brick, resting on a random rubble plinth. The cottage has exposed timber framing with brick filling on the west end. It includes iron casement windows with renewed leading and a central plain boarded door that is sheltered by a bracketed hood. Bank Cottage is part of a group that includes Tudor Cottage, Carter's Cross, White House, Bibury, and Nos 1 to 4, along with Corner Cottage on High Street.
