Description

A pair of cottages located on Westerham High Street, dating to the mid-18th century and subsequently altered, most likely with a 20th-century reroofing. The cottages are constructed of red brick in a Flemish bond pattern, using grey bricks as headers, and feature a plain tiled roof with a brick dentil cornice and brick chimney stacks at each end. The side elevation is tile hung. The cottages have two storeys and three windows. The windows have been replaced with 20th-century double-glazed triple casements. The ground floor windows have cambered head linings. There are two cambered doorcases with 20th-century plank doors. The rear elevation exhibits a tile-hung first floor, three 20th-century flat-roofed dormers, four casements, and a flat-roofed 20th-century extension. Number 26 has exposed chamfered spine beams with run-out stops to the ground floor, and a brick open fireplace with a wooden bressumer.
