Description
A pair of large semi-detached houses built in the early 20th century, designed by J Leonard Williams in the French Chateau style. The houses are roughcast with mansard tiled roofs and four rendered and brick chimney stacks. They are two storeys with attics, featuring five windows each on the front elevation. The frontages have recessed central sections, each with a flat-roofed dormer window. The two original 12-pane sash windows on each side of the recess are accompanied by windows in the projecting half-gabled ends, which have a large oculus in the attic space and a cambered 16-pane sash with brick keystones and shutters featuring a heart design. Brick quoins form a coved cornice. The side elevation has six flat-roofed dormers. The ground floor features two nine-pane sash windows and doorways with Gibbs surrounds; one has a mullioned and transomed casement, and the other a carved door with a fanlight and side lights. The interior has not been inspected, but is likely to contain original wooden staircases, wooden panelling, and fireplaces.
