Description
The Keep is a probably small, three-bay late medieval hall house with later casing, located on the north side of High Street in Kemsing. It features a high-pitched hipped tiled roof with ridge gablets and stands two storeys tall with an attic. The building has four irregularly placed windows, including two dormer windows that rest on the wall plate. There is a compound stack near the right end of the ridge. The first floor is tile hung, while the ground floor is made of brick. The windows are modern leaded casements, and there is a modern canted bay on the left and an enclosed brick porch on the right. Inside, there is much exposed timber and an inglenook fireplace. The Keep is part of a group that includes Rose Cottage, The Well Cottage, Castle Bank, and Fairway.
