Description
The building is a gate lodge located on the south-west side of the south-east drive to Barham Court, dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of stuccoed brick and features a slate roof. The lodge is square in shape, with a shallow projection along the rear wall that does not extend to the gable ends, and it is not internally subdivided. It is a single storey building set on a stuccoed plinth, with a plat band that continues from the window imposts and rusticated quoins. The eaves have flat panelled soffits, and the roof is pyramidal.
The front wall and the centre of the rear projection have a round-headed window opening set in a round-headed recess. There is a panelled door with a semicircular fanlight located in a round-headed recess at the centre of the right gable end. Additionally, there are spear-headed iron railings and a gate-pier panel positioned towards the front of the right gable end. Inside, the lodge features a moulded cornice and a 19th-century iron grate.
