Description

The monument to Thomas Maddox is a chest tomb located about 4 metres south of the chancel of the Church of St. Peter in Boughton Monchelsea. It dates from the late 17th century and is made of stone, resting on a stone base. The tomb features a moulded plinth and a corniced lid, with continuously roll-moulded side and end panels. The panels for inscriptions are plain, with the north side inscribed to Thomas Maddox, who died in 1682, along with accompanying text.
