Description
This is an oasthouse built in 1895, located about 40 metres south of Nos. 5 and 6 Little Mill Cottages in Marden. The structure is made of red brick in English bond, with the front wall of the stowage covered in weatherboarding. It features a plain tile roof and is rectangular in shape, built at right angles to the road. The rear wall has three square kilns. The stowage is three storeys high and has a hipped roof, while the kilns have pyramidal roofs topped with cowls.
The facade of the stowage is symmetrical, with one three-light "window" at each end. Each window consists of a central black-painted louvred strip, flanked by two-light paned casements. There are boarded loading doors at the centre of each upper floor, and the ground floor is open to the front, supported by painted iron columns. A gabled hoist-hood is located at the centre of the building. The date 1895 and initials are displayed on the right gable end. The interior has not been inspected.
