Description

A mid 19th century Russian cannon on a gun carriage, captured at Sebastopol, is located on a rusticated stone plinth opposite No 64 on the High Street. The cannon was presented to Maidstone in 1858 by Lord Panmure, the Secretary of War, and George Wickham, the Mayor of Maidstone.
