Description
Lewsome Farmhouse is a house dating from the 15th century with significant alterations in the 19th century. The lower half of the ground floor is built of ragstone, while the upper half is red and grey brick in a Flemish bond pattern. The first floor is covered with fishscale tiles, and the roof is tiled with a crested ridge, hipped, and features a gablet on the right side. The roof has multiple brick stacks to the right of the centre, a projecting stack on the right end, and a stack at the rear. The windows are arranged irregularly, with two 2-light, horizontally-sliding sash windows on the left side and a 3-light casement window to the right. The ground floor has a 2-light casement, a 3-light casement, and a canted bay window. A ribbed door is located to the right of the centre, beneath a stack, and is sheltered by a 20th-century brick lean-to porch. A parallel, two-storey rear range was added in the 19th century. The interior has not been inspected. The Ordnance Survey map identifies the property as Lewsome Farmhouse.
