Description

R.B. House, now used as offices, is an early 19th-century building that was previously listed as Stanfield House. It is constructed of rendered brick and has a plain tile roof. The building is double depth, featuring three storeys and a semi-basement on a plinth, with a plain wooden eaves cornice. The front and rear sections each have separate hipped roofs. There are large red brick ridge stacks located to the right of the center of each section, along with a very small brick stack at the left end between the sections. The façade has a regular three-window arrangement with recessed glazing-bar sashes, and the ground and first-floor windows are topped with a single Soanian line. A reeded architrave with a semi-circular head is situated above a door that is accessed by four steps with iron handrails, located between the left and central windows. This door consists of six fielded panels and has a semi-circular fanlight with radiating glazing bars. There is a blocked door between the left window and the left end of the building. The interior features 19th-century details, with some walls reportedly studded.
