Description
Knightrider House, located at 14 Knightrider Street, is a 18th-century building that was originally the home of William Shipley, the founder of the Royal Society of Arts. It currently serves as the office for the Maidstone and District Bus Company. The building is three storeys tall, constructed from brown brick with red brick window dressings and quoins. It features a hipped tiled roof and a wooden modillion eaves cornice. There are five sash windows, although the glazing bars are missing. The windows on the ground and first floors have architraves above them. A later addition is the central porch with a pediment, supported by wooden brackets. Additionally, there is a later three-light bay window on the ground floor of the right side elevation.
