Description

This is a chest tomb from the mid-19th century located about 10 metres south of the south transept of the Church of St. Peter and St. Paul. It is made of stone and features a doubly stepped base, with the lower step having been formerly railed. The tomb has a moulded plinth and cornice, and it includes a recessed inscription panel with concave corners. The north side of the tomb is inscribed to James Gardener Jeffe(rey?), who died in 1863. However, the inscription was largely illegible at the time of the last survey.
