Description

No. 26 on Lower Stone Street is a fine early 18th-century house. The ground floor has been altered to create a modern shop front. The building has three storeys and is finished in stucco with a tiled roof. It features a heavy moulded wooden eaves cornice with egg and dart moulding beneath it. There is a moulded cornice above the first floor that slightly projects over each window. The glazing bars are intact above the ground floor, and the windows are set within moulded architrave surrounds. No. 26 is part of a group that includes Nos. 26 to 36 (even), 40 to 46 (even), and 50 to 70 (even).
