Description

This is a chest tomb dedicated to Martha Whitehead, located about 18 metres east of the chancel of the Church of St. Peter and St. Paul. It dates from the early to mid-19th century and is made of stone. The tomb features a doubly stepped stone base, with the bottom step having been formerly railed. It has a moulded plinth and a bead-moulded lid, along with reeded side panels. The inscription panel has a reeded border with concave corners. The north side of the tomb is inscribed with the name Martha Eliza Whitehead, who died in 1832.
