Description
Lower Slade Farmhouse is a farmhouse that dates from the 16th century or earlier, with alterations made in the 19th century. It is timber-framed and clad in red brick laid in Flemish bond, topped with a plain tile roof. The building features a main range with a cross-wing to the left. The wing is two storeys high, while the main range is either one storey with a garret or two storeys, and has a lean-to at the front. The roof of the wing is hipped, while the main range has a half-hipped roof on the right side. There is a brick ridge stack located towards the left end of the main range. The wing has one 2-light 19th-century casement window on the first floor, and there is another 2-light window on the ground floor at the right end of the main range. A half-glazed door is situated in the centre of the main range, just to the right of the stack. The interior has not been inspected.
