Description
Upper Slade Farmhouse is a farmhouse dating from around 1600. It features a timber-framed structure, with the ground floor clad in red brick arranged in Flemish bond and the first floor tile hung. The roof is made of plain tiles and has a lobby entry plan. The building stands two storeys high on a flint plinth and has a hipped roof with gablets. There is a multiple brick ridge stack located off-centre to the right. The windows are irregularly arranged, featuring three 19th-century leaded casements. A boarded door is situated beneath the stack. Inside, the farmhouse consists of four bays, including a narrow stack bay. There are mortices for a diamond mullion window, and a volo-moulded mullion has been reused in a 19th-century wall. The first floor of the right end room is said to have been a granary.
