Description

The monument to William Wedd is a chest tomb located about 11 metres south of the south aisle of the Church of St. Peter in Boughton Monchelsea. It dates from the early 19th century and is constructed from stone, resting on a tooled stone base. The tomb features a hollow-chamfered plinth, a corniced lid, and fluted side panels. The north side is inscribed with the name William Wedd, who died in 1806 at the age of 19, while the south side bears the inscription for William Wedd, who died in 1820 at the age of 69.
