Description
A group of three chest tombs from the mid-18th century is located about 13 metres northeast of the chancel of the Church of St. Peter in Boughton Monchelsea. Each tomb is set on a stone base and features a moulded plinth, a corniced lid, and moulded side panels.
The southwest chest tomb is inscribed on the south side to the Reverend Mr. Deodaeus Bye, who died in 1758. The southeast chest tomb is inscribed to Thomas Collison, who died in 1744. The northeast chest tomb is inscribed to John Collison, who died in 1740.
