Description
Dean Manor is a Grade II listed building located on Dean Lane in Meopham. The west end of the manor is a service wing from the early 15th century, constructed with timber framing. The walls are partly made of flint with ragstone quoins, while the rest is brick. The roof is hipped and covered with tiles. At the south-west corner, there is the base of a chimney stack with a fireplace in the chamber above. A small stone loop is present at ground level. The original roof features a cruciform crownpost on a cambered tiebeam. There is a 16th-century brick chimney stack situated where a screen passage once was. The south wall of the central part is made of red brick with grey headers and includes a string course. The east end is also red brick with a brick cornice, and the timbers are exposed on the north side. The manor has casement windows with irregular spacing. Alterations have been made, including the refacing of the eastern part in the 18th century and further changes in the 1930s.
