Description
This is an early 19th-century building, number 42, on The Terrace. It is three storeys high with a basement, and the exterior is now rendered with a pebbledash finish. The building has a parapet with a moulded eaves cornice. The windows are predominantly sash windows with intact glazing bars. Decorative cast iron flower guards are present on the second floor, and balconettes are attached to the first floor. A round-headed sash window is located on the ground floor, and to the right of this is a round-headed doorcase featuring a keystone, a decorated fanlight, and steps leading up from the street. Cast iron spear railings enclose the area in front of the building. Numbers 42 to 45 on The Terrace, together with the Terrace Tavern, form a group.
