Description
This is a barn located approximately 52 yards east of Brenzett Place, dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of reddish-brown brick in Flemish bond and has a corrugated asbestos roof, which was originally thatched. The barn does not have a plinth, and its walls slope inward about 5 feet from the ground. It features a half-hipped roof and has two rows of ventilation slits on each side above the batter. There is a blocked loading door beneath the eaves on the left gable end and central double doors at the front. To the left of the entrance, there is a 19th-century brick lean-to that was formerly used to house an engine. Inside, the roof consists of stammered butt side purlins with collars, a ridge-piece, and short raked queen-struts. A brick marked with "BK1791" can be found on the outside wall of the barn, within the engine shed. The barn is included for its group value.
