Description
Brissenden is a house that was originally two cottages. The southwest range dates from the 17th century and was refronted in the early 19th century, while the northwest range is from the early 19th century. The southwest range is a single storey with attics and features two windows. It is constructed of red brick with a tiled roof that is half-hipped on the left and gabled on the right, topped with a central chimneystack. This range includes two hipped dormers and 12-pane sash windows. The northwest range is two storeys high with two windows, featuring a tiled roof and an end brick chimneystack. The windows here are also 12-pane sashes with horns, and the ground floor windows have a cambered shape. Inside, the house has open fireplaces with wooden bressumers, exposed floor joists, and plank doors.
