Description

The statue of Sir John Moore, located to the south of the Army Library in Shorncliffe Barracks, was created in 1916 by the sculptor John Tweed. This bronze statue depicts the renowned soldier Sir John Moore (1761-1809) in military dress, holding a sword, and is mounted on a stone plinth. Sir John Moore served as the Commandant of the Shorncliffe Camp from 1803 to 1804.
