Description
Davison's Windmill, located in Stelling Minnis, is a Grade I listed windmill built in 1866 by T.R. Holman for George Goble. This octagonal smock mill is constructed of timber and clad with tarred weatherboarding, resting on a brick base. It features a platform with a wooden handrail and a beehive cap, along with four sweeps and a fantail. On the south side, there is a three-light window with a shallow slanted hood, and another window is located on the north-east side. The south-east side has a boarded hatch and a small cross window positioned high up. A boarded door with a lean-to hood opens onto a balcony on the north side, with another door leading to the south-east side. There is a covered passage from the ground to the balcony on the south side. The interior has not been inspected. The windmill was acquired by Henry Davison in 1878 and remained in his family's possession into the 1950s. It is currently owned by Kent County Council.
