Description

Barfrestone Court is a house dating from the early 18th century, with extensions added in the mid-18th century. It is constructed of red brick, which was formerly painted, and has a plain tiled roof. The building is two storeys high, with a basement, and features a plinth, a plat band, and box eaves to the roof. The roof has kneelers and stacks positioned to the left and right. The windows are regularly spaced and consist of 2-pane glazing bar sashes on each floor; those on the ground floor have segmental heads. A basement window is located on the right side. The central front door is of 6 raised and fielded panels, with the top two panels glazed within a moulded surround and a cornice. A later 18th-century hipped wing is situated to the rear right, exhibiting irregular fenestration of glazing bar sashes.
