Description

Beauchamps is a cottage built in the 1870s by George Devey for William Oxenden Hammond. The building features dressed stone, red brick with blue diaper patterns, and an upper storey that is exposed framed and rendered. It has a plain tiled roof and is designed in the style of the St. Albans Court estate. The cottage is one storey with an attic and includes a continuous jetty and a gable to the left, supported by a moulded bressumer on corbelled brackets. There are stacks located at the left end, the rear left, and the centre of the front wall. The ground floor has mullioned windows, although some have been replaced, particularly on the left return. There is a boarded door located in a weather-boarded gabled extension on the left return.
