Description
The Old House is a house dating from the late 17th century, which was extended and altered in the early 19th century. It is constructed of red brick in irregular header and Flemish bonds, topped with a slate roof. The building has a lobby entry plan and consists of two storeys and a garret, featuring a plinth, a plat band, and a kneelered gable on the left side. There is a large chimney stack on the centre left and another at the end right.
On the first floor, there are four wooden casements, while the ground floor has four double-glazing bar sash windows with segmental heads, except for the end right, which has a blocked opening. The front door is made up of six raised and fielded panels, framed by pilasters that support a frieze and a dentil cornice. At the rear, there is a 19th-century wing with a hipped roof, which includes two glazing bar sashes on the first floor and a horizontally sliding sash and a boarded door on the ground floor.
