Description
Bewsbury Cross House and Coachhouse is a 17th-century house that was extended in the 19th century. The building is rendered and features buff-coloured brick, topped with a plain tiled roof. It stands two storeys high with a basement, set on a plinth and plat band, and has overhanging eaves. There are stacks on both the left and right sides. The first floor has two glazing bar sash windows, while the ground floor has two wooden casements and a double plank and stud door located in a porch to the right. To the right, there is a two-storey hipped extension that has a cogged eaves cornice and a sash window on each floor. Inside, the house features a crenellated dais beam, which may have been relocated from another site, although the location has historical significance as Whitfield Farm. Attached to the right by a garden wall is a mid-19th-century coachhouse made of buff brick and flint, which has a weatherboarded front and a cast iron hand pump on the left return.
