Description
The Old Malthouse is a building that served as maltings and oasts, dating from the early to mid 19th century. It is constructed of red brick and has a slate roof. The structure features two square kilns with pyramidal roofs located at opposite corners of an earlier storage building. The building has irregularly placed segmental wooden casements, with one at each of three levels, and boarded doors to the left and in the left-hand kiln. There is a rear wing that is two storeys high with a hipped roof and five segmentally headed wooden casements. Inside, the building includes contemporary machinery such as a gin wheel, a well house, and a hop press.
